Pre-Retirement Planning

Purpose:  The Pre- Retirement Planning Committee shall provide opportunities for retirement planning to active educational employees in order to facilitate the retirement process.  

Goals & Responsibilities:  the committee's services may be offered to other interested groups deemed appropriate by the Executive Committee.  A close relationship should be maintained with the Membership Committee as well as with the various state education associations.   The committee will serve as a liaison between NMAER and all New Mexico educational employees from pubic schools and institutions of higher learning, private schools and colleges, and Bureau of Indian Affairs and other state and federal educational programs.

Committee Profile:  Chairperson will be appointed by the President.  Committee should be comprised of 5-10 representatives from all geographic areas of the state.  Committee members will serve a three (3) year term.  Committee members are eligible for reappointment upon completion of their terms,

Recommended Calendar:  Committee will meet at least once a year.
