Purpose: The Amendments Committee shall
be to receive and evaluate all proposed amendments to the By-Laws and
Constitution. The Amendments Committee shall present all
amendments proposed either by mail or at the preceding annual meeting in
the NEWSLETTER prior to the next annual meeting along with a
recommendation for each to "pass" or "no pass" and
the reason(s) for said recommendation.
Goals & Objectives: Shall
maintain the NMAER Policies & Procedure Manual for and under the
direction of the Executive Committee. Shall conduct the every
five-year review of the Constitution and By Laws at the direction of
the President
Committee Profile:
Appointed by the President.
The Committee shall be
comprised of representatives from all geographical areas of the state,
not to exceed nine members. Committee members will serve three (3)
year terms. Committee members are eligible for reappointment upon
completion of their terms.
Recommended Calendar:
January: The President sends to the
chair any amendments proposed at the previous annual business meeting.
January
and March: The chair solicits amendments
through articles in the first two newsletters of the year.
May:
The 15th works well as a deadline for receipt
of newly proposed amendments resulting from newsletter articles.
May
/June: The chair sends amendments from
the previous annual business meeting, solicited amendments, and any
unsolicited amendments to Committee members.
June/July:
Committee submits the results of its
evaluation and review of the proposed amendments for publication in the
September Newsletter.
Fall:
At the direction of the President the chair
presents the proposed amendments for consideration to the Delegate
Assembly at the annual business meeting. The chair incorporates
the new or amended policy or procedure in the committee's column in the
next Newsletter.
